Meet Clive Rickard
Clive has been a creative designer for more than 30 years. He has designed and made curtains, blinds and soft furnishings for clients all over the UK and particularly in London.
He has been fortunate enough to work extensively in spectacular homes across Kensington & Chelsea, Mayfair, Belgravia and Hampstead. His diverse base of clients range from busy young families to A-list celebrities.
Clive completed his education in 1988 and began work an an apprentice soft furnishing maker, for an interior design business based in Hampton Court. Clive then started his own soft furnishing business in 1993 and has had a busy roster of clients ever since!
a Pop of Appliqué
A Pop of Appliqué began life as a lockdown project for Clive, so he 'wouldn't go mad'. His designs proved so popular that he launched the A Pop of Appliqué brand - a range of joyful, quirky and luxe handmade soft furnishings for happy homes.
A Pop of Appliqué products range from plush Flora and Fauna-inspired cushions, luxury dog blankets and statement Roman Blinds and Wall Hangings. Playful designs, enchanting compositions and vibrant colour palettes combine to create a brand which is bold, luxurious - and fun!
Clive works from his home studio in Richmond, south west London, where he lives with his partner and Richmond's most spoiled pooch, Stolly (who has her own dog blanket, of course). Clive's inspiration is rooted in the beauty of the natural world, from the flora and fauna of exotic wilderness to the gentle elegance of Richmond's parks and riverside.
